Personal Statement
Even though I have been learning from the game since the young age of four, I did not completely fall in love with golf until I moved to Florida. For the last three years, I have found myself totally involved in this sport spending more time each year. When I first came to Florida in the eighth grade, I was struggling to break 90, so when I finally broke 80, I felt as if my hard work had paid off, and I became motivated to continue to improve my game. Now that I am consistently shooting in the 70s, I am determined to continue lowering my scoring average and take the next major step of my golfing career and break 70. However, more than anything, I strive to constantly improve my technique alongside my character on the field.
As a collegiate golfer, I aspire to play for a competitive team and contribute to my team’s success and win prestigious events such as the conference and national championships. I would love to be part of a team which I can rely on and learn from, allowing me to further both my abilities as a player and as a person.
As for my academic goals, in high school, I intend to maintain my 4.0 GPA and, in college, I aspire to major in finance and minor in sociology. In a university, I am also seeking a program that pushes me to think outside the box and allows me to truly excel in the fields I am interested in through the usage of real-world applications.
With that said, I am looking for a college that not only suits my academic interests but also has a competitive team that drives me to be a better player.
