Personal Statement
Having played golf since I was 11, now almost 18, it has been a major part of my life. Starting in 6th grade, immediately it was something I was good at, and by the time I was in 7th & 8th I played 1st position the whole year. High school was definitely a step up, competitive wise; I had a whole team for and against me at the same time. The experience of being on a team prior, along with my naturally being outgoing landed me one of the Captain spots by junior year, as well as this year, my senior year. I'm by far the smallest girl on my team, only 5'2", 115 pounds, but the comparison has never intimidated me. I play not only for my high school, but local and surrounding tours, having won countless 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. The most important tournament win to me would the First Place Medicus Cup Championship that I won. Out of about 30 other junior girls in the 14-18 group, me being 15. The most outstanding event that I have encountered in my years of playing was February of 2010 and I was one of 20 junior golfer in my area selected to play in a small tournament with Mia Hamm and Annika Sorenstam. Just after this tournament I was personally invited by Annika to come to her school in South Florida. Always being dedicated to my team and working together, as mush as you can in golf, I hope with all of us capable of shooting in the 70's, to take first in State this year. As far as the colleges I would like to attend, I would prefer to stay in Florida, but am not completely closed minded to the idea of venturing outward. I'm very interested in the look and feel of the colleges' campus and student life. Concerning school size I’m indifferent.
