Personal Statement
As an aspiring collegiate athlete, I have been playing golf since I was six years old. I began classes with the First Tee of North Florida and continue to progress through their program. I will complete Eagle Level in spring ’17 and move into Ace to round out my high school years. I played golf competitively in middle school.
As a homeschooled student I had the opportunity to join the local school’s team. My freshman year, I played on the high school team and plan to continue playing for the next three years. I am a member of NFJG (North Florida Junior Golf) and that affords me the opportunity to play tournaments in my area. In addition, I participate with FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) at combines and other events.
Off the course, I dedicate myself to academics, music, and volunteering. I play five instruments: harp, piano, keyboard, violin, and cello; in addition, I sing. As a member of my church’s high school orchestra and the Palatka Suzuki Strings Group I am able to use my musical talent to bless those in my community. Volunteering has been instilled in me through my parents and I serve on average 20+ hours a month with The First Tee of North Florida, LPGA Girls Golf, Fraternal Order of Police Associates, and All In A Day (my older sister’s non profit organization).
After high school, I plan on attending college and obtaining a biomedical degree. My goal beyond college is to go to medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon.
