Personal Statement
Dear prospective coaches ,
My name is Kayleigh Diana Baker. I'm a high school golfer aspiring to play Division I level golf.
Since the age of 12, I have dedicated myself to playing golf at a collegiate level. I have invested the time, along with my parents sacrifice's to be the best player, athlete, student and teammate I can possibly be.
Golf has enhanced me in ways probably not attained had I never lifted a club. It has enriched my life and taught me how to deal with success and more importantly, how to bounce back from failure. I love the euphoria I get from a great round and everybody loves personal success but; nothing feels better than when I know I have helped my team win. Conversely, I am never more disappointed than when I let my team down with a poor round.
I know that I can be an asset to my college team because I see my self as selfless and a team player.. Of all the the trophies and medals I have won over the years, none has meant more to me than being named the 2017 Jack Nicklaus Award for the North Florida Junior Golf Association. This was a peer selected award for character, sportmanship, and achievement. I never give up when things get tough, and I encourage the same of all my team mates and peers.
