Personal Statement
Although I have not finalized any of my decisions quite yet, I have a general idea of what field I would like to get into. My main goal is to travel the world and learn about many different cultures. I think that a great way to do this would be to major in Hospitality and Tourism Management. My favorite and most memorable experiences have always been while I was on vacation, so what would be better than being in that atmosphere all the time? I decided to get into this field because of my Nanay. She is currently a travel agent and has been for many years. Her career fascinates me and I believe that having a member of the family in my ideal field of work would help me out a lot.
Academics are very important to me. My schoolwork is always done days before the due date and is always given my best efforts. I have very high expectations for myself, so when my grades are not on point I push myself to the limit until they are where I want them to be. My thrive for good grades is constantly increasing. Every year my GPA improves, and at this rate I expect to have a 4.0 by the start of my senior year.
My athletic abilities have always made me stand out from the crowd. I was in competitive gymnastics for 10 years, which is the main reason for my athleticism. While training for gymnastics, I was also the starting pitcher and first baseman on the varsity softball team. On my off seasons, I would play volleyball to stay in shape. And one year, I even attempted track and field. Once I was tired of all my other sports, I decided to try golf. I had been around it my entire life, but I had never really wanted to get into it. My sophomore year, I wanted to make a run at the competition. This was when I new I could take it somewhere. Now I am putting everything I have into this single sport to earn a scholarship. I quit every other sport I had ever enjoyed to pursue this one, and I hope I can pay for a great majority of my college education by doing so.
