Snow skiing, water skiing, jet skiing, and playing basketball are a few of my hobbies, but golf is my passion. I am currently a senior who attends Hinsdale Central High School. I work very hard in school in order to achieve good grades while also balancing my dedication to golf. During the fall season I play for the school team, and last year I won Sectionals with by shooting a 74. This year I had a successful season and finished at State shooting a 76 and 81. Throughout the summer I participate in many tournaments. Since golf is my passion, I have developed crucial skills such as being a hard worker, being dedicated, and fighting for what I want to achieve.
I work hard by practicing golf almost every day ranging from spending time on putting, chipping, hitting balls, and playing. On the weekends I often play golf. After school, I take the time to go to the range and make sure I get a good practice in. In college I think this trait will take me far because I will have developed the knowledge of how hard work pays off. It has taken me some time to realize this, but in golf, I learned that practice and having patience in order to wait for results can pay off in the long run. Putting 100% of my effort towards golf allows me to stay focused and dedicated. With all of the hours I put in towards getting better, it allows me to work towards a goal, and develop new skills that I will carry with me to college. When I play in tournaments I try not to let anyone get in my head, and I just play my own game. If I happen to mess up on a hole, I do not let it ruin the rest of my round, and I work hard to recover those strokes back. Also, I have been in a few playoffs where I trusted my skill and played with confidence, and luckily, they have turned out successful. In college having all of this confidence will allow me to reach new levels by fighting for what I believe in.
Playing for a college team is something I have wanted to do ever since I took up golf, and is something I look forward to being a part of. I want to be on a team that takes golf as serious as I do, and wants to compete to win. I possess the qualities that would allow me to be successful in college golf and in my future jobs because I fight for what I want, and do not give up.
