Personal Statement
Hi, I am Carolyn Pacocha! I am a junior at Eureka High School. Even at a young age, I loved the game of golf! I’ve always been drawn to the competitive atmosphere and the continuing desire to improve and am always itching to play golf even during the winter months in Illinois!
The accomplishments I achieved my first two years of high school, and the ten years of tournament experience, have proven the time and effort invested in my game has paid off. My freshman year I led our team to a first ever regional win in school history. That same year I was the 2015 Corn Belt Conference Individual Champion. As a sophomore, I won the 2016 Heart of Illinois Conference Individual Champion and also tied for 17th in Class 1A in the IHSA State Golf Tournament.
Not only do I strive for improvement on the golf course, I also challenge myself in the classroom. I enjoy learning new concepts and the challenge that comes with them and work hard to maintain my 3.8 GPA. I intend to enroll in AP classes my senior year of high school. I play the flute in the Eureka High School Marching and Concert Bands. I also enjoyed mentoring at our local elementary school this past year and am a participating member of Key Club. I constantly look for ways to use my leadership to help others both in and out of the classroom.
It seems like just yesterday my goal was to play high school golf. Now, the hours I spend on the golf course every summer in addition to those with my high school team, I put towards making my goal of playing collegiate golf possible. I look forward to making my goal a reality and playing at the collegiate level.
