Personal Statement
I have been playing golf competitively for the last four years. I originally was focused on playing softball until I realized my potential on the golf course. My junior year, I was recognized as an All-State golfer and All-State softball player. I am very driven both on the golf course and in the classroom. I strive to be the best and put in the hours to continually improve. I am the first one to arrive at practice and the last to leave. I am a supportive teammate. My ultimate goal is to play collegiate golf where I can continually improve my game and contribute to the success of the team while earning my degree. I have a solid drive and am known for hitting the ball a long way; many holes I can't use my driver due to the shorter distance from the red tees played in high school. On average, I hit my driver 270 yards and my 7 iron 155 yards. I am very accurate with my irons, and have greatly improved my short game over the past year. Recently (July 2015), I attended Dave Pelz 3 day scoring game school at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. I am extremely coachable and a class act. I am honest, kind, helpful, and respectful and keep my emotions in check. I strive to be one of the hardest working players/recruits you’ll find.
In the classroom, I apply myself and am currently ranked number 18 in a class of 524. I take honor and AP level classes and am still able to maintain my high class rank while playing two varsity high school sports (golf and softball). I am also active in volunteer work and have put in over 100+ volunteer hours helping others and supporting community events.
I want to attend a college where I can excel both academically and athletically and be a role model to others.
