Makenna Hostetler '18 Recruiting Profile

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to view my profile.  I currently attend Homestead High School in Fort Wayne, IN.  It is a very large school and is highly competitive both athletically and academically.  Growing up, I have competed in many sports at a high level (mostly "A" level Club) and am currently a two sport athlete, playing both varsity golf and softball.  My father introduced me to golf when I was 6 and I competed in a local golf tour during the summers as a young kid.  However, I really began enjoying the game and playing at a competitive level about 3 years ago.   Between the work I put in by myself and with my swing coach, Gary Gant, I am growing each day and look forward to bettering myself every time I step on the course.   As a junior this year, I played in the #2 position and helped the team win our Sectional Championship as well as our Regional Championship.  In the State Championship, we finished 6th overall!  My low 18 hole round for the year was a (-2) 70 (twice) and my low 9 hole round was a (-3) 33, both of which were school records. 

I have grown up in a strong Christian family who has supported me in everything I do.  I am a person of character, have a very strong work ethic, the desire to compete at a high level and the passion to get better each and every day.  Being as active as I am, managing my time is very important in order to keep my grades top priority.  Ultimately, I would like to compete at a highly respected University that has a good golf program, in which I would not only play, but most importantly have the ability to obtain a quality education.  I look forward to contributing as both an athlete and a great teammate.
