Karina Serio '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a junior high school golfer with a passion for academics and international affairs. I am eager to study International Relations, Russian, and Eastern European studies while continuing to play collegiate golf. Additionally, I am deeply committed to using my education and experiences to make a positive impact on the world around me, particularly in Ukraine.

My passion for Ukraine began when I was introduced to a global non-profit organization named ENGin, which helps Ukrainian high school students learn and refine their English skills. I was immediately drawn to this organization because of its mission to provide educational opportunities for young people in Ukraine, and I have been an active participant ever since.

ENGin has given me the opportunity to interact with Ukrainian students, learn about their culture, and share my own experiences with them. I am passionate about promoting cross-cultural understanding and fostering global connections. I believe that the study of international relations and Russian and Eastern European studies will provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a positive impact in Ukraine and other parts of the world.

As a student-athlete, I understand the importance of balance and time management. I am committed to maintaining a high level of academic achievement while also pursuing my passion for golf and my involvement with ENGin. I believe that these experiences have taught me valuable leadership and teamwork skills that will serve me well in college and beyond.

I am confident that my academic interests, athletic achievements, and commitment to community service make me an ideal candidate for your university.
