I started playing golf in 2019 when I was a freshman in high school. My dad encouraged me to try it out and I ended up falling in love with the game. I compete in and out of the season and all throughout the year, along with summer tournaments with KJGA (Kalamazoo Junior Golf Association) and the Lakeshore League. I played in the MHSAA state tournament in 2020, finishing 92nd and in 2021, finishing 45th. I am hoping to get in the top 20 in my season of 2022.
Academics has always been top of my priorities, whether it was always being on the school honor roll or being inducted into NHS in 2021. I plan to put forth all of my abilities and pursue collegiate golf while I study Sports Medicine.
On the varsity golf team, I have earned the title of captain and MVP, which has brought me to motivate my teammates when they've had a bad round and support them when they need help. If I’ve learned anything over the past couple of years on the course, it's that golf is an individual game and only you can put the work in to see results.
