Personal Statement
Hello. My name is Georgina Canavesio and I'm a Senior at Powers Catholic High School in Flint, MI. I'm extremely passionate about golf and I've worked hard for the things I've achieved. As I continue to practice and play rounds of golf, my game has consistently gotten better. I'm willing to work hard and dedicate the time to playing at the collegiate level. I'm a very driven person; when I do something and I'm determined, I really do it. That goes for golf. Over the past years, my game has improved drastically; it took many hours at the range and course but it's finally showing. From my 2015 season to 2016 season I had an 11 stroke difference! Although there are always areas to work on, I'm happy with the way my game has been coming along. I know with continued hard work I can only get better. I am very blessed to have a family that is supportive and will do whatever they can to help me. We joined the Flint Golf Club so that I can practice and play more golf. Other activities I'm involved in are,marching band and track as well as multiple clubs. I've been a part of the marching band for four years. I'm also a part of concert band where I have received two number 1 ratings at MSBOA for Solo and Ensemble. I was also part of the track team for two years. Community service is also something I enjoy as well, I have over 100 hours of service logged. For 3 years now I've had perfect attendance in the classroom. I've always really enjoyed school, and academics are very important to me. I have been dual enrolled in courses through UM-Flint and BYU. I've also been enrolled in several AP classes. Playing golf at the colligate level is something I've thought about for quite some time now. I'm excited to see where my hard work takes me.
