Personal Statement

Dear Prospective Coaches,

Thank you for viewing my NCSA profile.  I am closing-in on making my college choice soon.  I am currently interested in attending a division III college that has offered acedemic and music scholarships (bassoon).

I am still open to attending other colleges.

One very important consideration for college choices, unfortunately, depends on the financial package a college can offer.  I am looking to complete my education at an institution that can provide the best education without burdening my parents and my debt-load once I graduate.

If you are still considering me, I would like to know the minimum and maximum family contribution to attend your school.   Please consider my scholarship potential based on my grades, ACT score, athletic abilitiy and musical skills.
Respectfully,
Anna Burdick

Personal Statement

Hello! I'm Anna Burdick; I am a senior in high school. I attend Port Huron High School, which is located in Port Huron Michigan. I am 5 foot 6 inches and weigh 140 pounds. I am very active high school; I play Bass Clarinet in the marching band and bassoon in Wind Ensemble. I play two sports, varsity girls tennis and varsity girls golf; but golf in my primary sport. The first time I ever picked up a golf club was the summer before my freshman year of high school. During my freshmen year of golf, I averaged about a 65 for nine holes on my home course, Fore Lakes Golf Club. But as I continued to practice during the next season, I improved dramatically; during my sophomore year of golf I averaged about a 49 for nine holes. I shed nearly 16 strokes off of my nine-hole game and had the lowest average of my team. The summers before my junior and senior year I participated in the Blue Water Jr. Golf Tour, 1st flight 15-18 year girls and averaged 98 for 18 holes (10 tournaments). During the season of my junior year of golf, I averaged a 44 for the season and was captain of the Port Huron High School Varsity Girls Golf Team. We ended up winning our MAC divisional and the MAC Blue conference. I was named Big Red of the Year and was the MAC Blue MVP.  We also won our MAC division and MAC conference during my senior year.  I averaged 43 for my senior year.  During all four seasons, I was very devoted and focused. I was the first one to be at practice and the last one to leave. As I stated, I was the captain for my team this year and last year This years team was full of new players. My coach and I worked very hard to teach the new players the rules, the etiquette and the skills needed for golf. I worked very hard to improve my game and am very passionate about this sport. It is my  goal to play golf at the collegiate level .  I am most interested in playing for a division 2 school, with a medium enrollment. My primary goal in college is to do well academically. My goal as a golfer is to be an impact player for my team and to be a "team player."
