Personal Statement
Maintaining a 4.0 and doing very well in school, including a 28 on my ACT, has always been easier for me. What hasn't been is starting golf at the age of 13. My first summer ever golfing, I played left-handed, my dominant hand. The year after, I switched to right-handed, and it was like starting golf all over again. And without any swing coach, or any other coach besides my high school one, the challenges of golf and fixing any sort of slump has been more than frustrating. However, every time I have figured it out and pushed forward.
I am a great candidate for any team because I am willing to work and push myself past my own beliefs of what I can accomplish; thus, dubbing the name "Ferrari." My freshman year, only being 15 , no one believed I could make it to state, let alone regionals, not even my high school coach. I didn't really believe it either, but since everyone had to say I couldn't or wouldn't, sparked the stubbornness inside of me. After the end of the state tournament of my freshman year, I was told my brain is like a Ferrari engine with bicycle brakes. I am different from other recruits because of the rawness and potential I have. I also happen to be a very good team player, motivating all the others to be better and having their backs every step of the way.
Filling all the potential I have individually, and the potential I bring to the team is one of my main collegiate goals. I can do nothing more than be the best I can be, and to make the team I am on greater and more of a threat at every competition.
