Personal Statement
I am 5'6" and weigh 130 lbs from Starkville, MS. I am originally from Thailand. I have been playing golf since I was 8 years old. My love for golf and being able to play golf for a college has been my number one goal since then.
I have completed in various tournaments individually throughout the summers from 2005 until present. I was qualified 3 times to the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship since I was 13th and placed 13th, 15th and 7th, respectively. I was titled MWGA Girls Junior Amateur (75-71) in 2008 and won the Mississippi Private School Girls' Golf Overall Tournament (71). I was chosen to represent Mississippi in Tri-State Championship in 2009 and 2010. I was nominated for the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame's PopStar Award in 2010. I was awarded the most valuable golfer by Starkville Academy five years in a row.
I have an outgoing-positive personality. I have a great work ethic both on the course and in the classrooms. I always work hard to improve myself. Because my parents live in Thailand, I have to be self-sufficient and responsible. I am very active in school and community activities.
As of now, my major is still undecided. I am looking for a golf scholarship to help my family financially. Since I am an international student, I am not qualified for any government financial assistants; therefore, golf scholarship will help me and my family tremendously.
