Personal Statement
My name is Cameron Huang. I’m a freshman (Class of 2025) at Clark High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Academically, I rank in the top 2% of my class with 4.0 GPA. In junior golf scoreboard rankings, I’m currently ranked 19th in Nevada and 1104 th in overall. In the past year, I have won one tournament and placed two top 5 finishes. My most notable event was I shot 70 (-2) at AJGA Cameron McCormick Junior All-Star in June 2021 despite that I had leg infection from Texas’s notorious mosquito bite. I am also the top two players at Clark High Women's Golf Team. I am self-motivated and focused on being the best I can be both in the classroom and in golf.
I also co-published a book, “I Want to Play College Golf!”, with my 15 years old sister, Angelina Huang, in April 2021 on Amazon.com. I Want to Play College Golf! examines junior golf and the road to college through the eyes of fifteen golf enthusiasts, including college golfers, golf instructors, professional golfers…and more. Please check out my book at IWantToPlayCollegeGolf.com. All the book proceeds have been donated back to US Golf Kids and Shriner's Children Hospital.
I am determined to be the leader of golf and my career in the future. My immediate goal is to improve my golf stats and work on my game so I can advance my game to the next level. My near future goal is to be a Collegiate All-American both in golf and in academic. I look forward to learning more about your program and to leading our team to a National Championship in golf.
