My name is Hayley Weiner. Due to my devotion, to my academics, sports, and extra curricular activities, I consider myself to be a well rounded individual. My motivation to continuously improve my golf game allows me to be a coachable player. I have been playing golf since age seven and have learned life lessons from the game. One bad shot, or one bad stroke, you must learn to adjust in golf as well as in life. I have been a member of the Fallsburg Central School Varsity Girls Golf Team since seventh grade (2014). In seventh grade (2014), I received the FCS Sportsmanship Award. In eighth grade (2015), I received the Most Improved Player Award. This year (2016), I received The Most Valuable Player Award. As an eighth grader, I played in the Section 9 State Qualifying Tournament. In 2016, as a freshman I also participated in the Section 9 State Qualifying Tournament, finishing 12th. In 2017 I played in the Section 9 State Qualifying Tournament , I finished 9th and was a member of the Section 9 team to play at Bethpage in the State Tournament. After 9 holes I had a 44 and was in 24th place,. After 18 I had a total of 92 and was 52nd. After the following 18 holes the next day I finished the tournament at 200 and finished 72nd. I also play volleyball on the JV level. I'm involved in Honor Society, Student Government, and Band. As an eighth grader I was 1 of 700 students nation wide to attend the National Association of Student Councils-Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. Eventually, I would be interested in continuing my golf career on a collegiate level. At this point I am undecided on a possible major in college. I am presently exploring areas that interest me such as, law, business, or communications. Thank you for taking the time to view my personal statement.
