Samantha Harrington '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Samantha Harrington and I have been around golf my whole life, I began playing with my dad (David Harrington) when I was 10, but didn’t start competitively in PKB and CVJG till I was 14. I am currently a senior attending Hickory High School. My grade point average is a 3.8 while I am taking all IB, AP, and honors courses. I have not taken the SAT yet, I am signed up for the SAT in May. I am looking for a school that has a good Medical, Science and/or advertising marketing program.

For the last three years my high school averages have improved greatly. Freshman year my average for 9 holes was 47, sophomore year it was 43.5 and this past year, junior year, was 39.5. All 3 years our team has won all conference, I placed 7^th freshman year, 5^th sophomore year, 2^nd junior year and 4th this year. Also each year I have advanced to both regionals and states. As you can see, each year I am getting smarter, stronger, and better. My strengths are my driver and short game, and I am working hard each week on my iron play. I am very excited and eager for the challenges of collegiate golf.

I am also involved in many, many extra-curricular activities. For example, I am in Beta Club, Juniorettes, Key Club, and Interact. I have also been involved in Younglife and Wyldlife since I was in 6^th grade and I am currently a wildlife leader and have been now for 3 years. I would also love it if your school has Younglife college, if not I would like to take the initiative to start that.
