Avery Briley '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Avery Briley. I am currently a junior at Ralph L. Fike High School in Wilson, North Carolina. I am 16 years old and have played golf since I was around the age of 7. I have tried sports like soccer, softball, dance, and volleyball, but nothing has come close to golf. I currently play volleyball at Fike, but I love golf and the challenges I may face on the course physically and mentally. Over the years, golf has become one of my top priorities and my primary sport bypassing volleyball. I have played in numerous tournaments since the age of 7, but I started playing more competitive golf in my freshmen year of high school, playing on my high school's varsity team. I also play in other tournaments, including PKBGT and TYGA.  I hope to continue playing more competitively and enhance my golf skills. I want to play golf for as long as I can. Despite the sport I play, you will find me positively encouraging my teammates and keeping them motivated. I take everything a coach or teacher tells me, knowing there is always room for improvement and something new I can learn. I have a strong work ethic and always try my best, whether it's at school or playing a sport. I take school very seriously and currently have a 4.3 GPA because I want to go to college and possibly study something in the medical field.
