Hello coaches,
My name is Jessica Shay and I am a sophomore at Milford High School in Milford, Ohio. I am 5'1 and 110 lbs. I have been playing golf since I was 12 years old.
I would like to play college golf because it will help me to grow as a golfer and a person in general. Golf has shaped me as a person and helped me learn how to interact with people, handle stressful situations, and keep my emotions from getting the best of me. Most importantly, I love golf because the course is my safe place, I will never be happier than I am on a summer morning playing 18 by myself. Some good qualities I try to show to teammates is good leadership skills, sportsmanship skills, and keeping a positive attitude. During the winter, I practice at least 3-4 days a week and the rest of the year, I practice 5-6 days a week. I would like to major in either Business or Political Science. During freshman and sophomore year I have maintained around a 3.5 GPA and I work very hard to keep my grades up, especially because education doesn't always come easy to me. Some things I hope for in college golf are to be able to play and not sit out during the season, participating in tournaments, being a part of the team, and getting to improve my golf game are very important to me.
I really hope that this has helped you to know more about me and about my golf career. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Jessica Shay
