Personal Statement
I am an extremely competitive individual and want to be part of a collegiate team that competes in post season play. A college degree is my first priority, but I also want to achieve success on the gof course. There is a newspaper article that helps explain how I came to love the game of golf. For about 6 years I played travel softball and in 7th grade began to golf. I continued to play travel softball tournaments right up to the start of the golf season each year. I played events on the local First National Bank Jr Tour schedule during the summer as I continued to play softball. I quickly learned it is tough to perfect both swings at the same time! The following article http://www.timesreporter.com/news/20161124/swinging-past-death-jocelyn-troyer-overcomes-near-tragic-accident-to-become-all-ohio-golfer details an event that kept me from playing softball for a full year. It was at that point that I committed myself to the game of golf and saw my scores begin to improve. Ten months after the head injury I placed tenth at the OHSAA DII Golf Tournament to earn 2nd team All Ohio honors. I am committed to improving my golf game and earning a roster spot on a college team.
