Personal Statement
Golf is in my blood, in my genetic make-up. Growing up the daughter of two former golf professionals, my path was set in motion from very early on. I have loved and shown a passion for the sport from the very beginning. My love for the game continues to grow as I become more adventurous in my practice and competitive play. My opportunities have also continued to grow because of my involvement in golf. I am an Eagle participant in The First Tee and I have been the captain of my High School team since my freshman year.
I inherited a very competitive spirit from my parents, both collegiate golfers and state champions. Watching them play at the top tier has spilled over to me, and has helped me create a vision of what I want to accomplish in this sport. This desire to be successful has also made its way into the classroom as well, and I find myself attacking “the books” with the same grit and determination.
I am very driven to succeed in all of my goals that I have set for myself. I have also grown so much as an individual and have seen how important it is to be part of a team, how important it is to have leadership within the team and how I can thrive in that environment.
My goal is to finish high school as one of the best in South Dakota, play in many AJGA and like events and have several top 10 finishes, win the state Jr. in South Dakota and Minnesota. I desire to be a great teammate, leader and asset to the program that best fits both my academic and athletic goals.
