My name is Sara, I am an upcoming senior at Denbigh High School where I am very active in school activities and ranked in the top 6 of my class for academics. I have played on the girls’ varsity tennis team the past two years, and this year was ranked #1. I am also on my school's golf team, and was the first girl to play on the Denbigh boy's team last year. Being nominated for several leadership roles to include 11th grade class president, attending several leadership conferences, National Honor Society president for the upcoming school year, and being chosen to attend Girls State this summer have given me the necessary leadership skills to lead and be a positive role model to my fellow athletes. My parents have not only encouraged me to be well rounded and disciplined, but also the importance of integrity, honesty, humility, respect, empathy, responsibility, and perseverance. Out of all the virtues my parents have instilled in me, perseverence/dedication are the ones I see athletes around me struggle with most because giving up is far easier than continuing on. Quitting is not an option for me. I am very dedicated in everything I do, and I always strive to do my very best.
