Some of my accomplishments during the 2019 summer season include placing 3rd at the AJGA Kyle Stanley Junior Championship (WA), placing 4th at the AJGA Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Sugarloaf (ME), and placing 2nd at the 2019 WJGA State Championship. My best tournament rounds include shooting a 69 at the AJGA Junior All-Star at Hunter Ranch in California (2018, placed 5th), and shooting scores 68 at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) 2018 4A State and 67 at WIAA 2019 District Championship. Starting golf at an age of 8, I learned to calm myself during stressful situations and to persevere through every hardship that I encounter, this, along with the support from my family and friends, constructed my positive attitude towards every situation.
My academic goal for high school is to graduate with a weighted GPA above 4.25. In addition to golf, I also play the flute for the Decatur High School Wind Ensemble. Some of my biggest accomplishments as a flutist would be being selected for the top honor band at the Western International Band Clinic (WIBC) in 2018 and again in 2019 and qualifying for the Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) Solo and Ensemble State 2019.
Personally, I love being on a high school golf team. Since golf is an individual sport, I've never encountered the feeling of being depended on in sports before joining my high school golf team. The warmth and support from my team motivate me to practice harder and helped me discover a new reason to love golf. As an experienced golfer and a successful scholar, I believe I would be a good candidate for your college team.
