Personal Statement

I started to play golf at the age of 8 when I first joined my club’s junior golf program.  I have always loved all sports and played many different sports growing up.  Two years ago, I really fell in love with golf and realized I wanted to take my game to another level.  Since then, I have signed up for many tournaments and never pass up an opportunity to play golf competitively or with friends.  I enjoy being on the golf course practicing.  The practice range and putting green is where you will be able to find me most days after school.  Playing golf has encouraged me to set new goals for myself.  I love the challenge of trying to get better and striving to reach those goals.

I have very high academic goals.  School has always been very important to me and is my number one priority.  At school I play the violin in the top orchestra and get to travel with them.  I am also in the National Honor Society and attend meetings for Athlete Leadership Development ran by our school’s athletic director to help carry out and demonstrate leadership skills by using our school’s Viking Vision.  I have always aimed to be a high achiever both inside the classroom and out.  I would love to find a school where I have the opportunity to continue to reach my academic goals as well as have an opportunity to play golf.
