Personal Statement
I started playing golf when I was five years old and never stopped. Whether it was just leisure golf with my dad, learning from lessons at different golf courses or playing in my golf club’s youth summer program and championships, I was always playing. But I play now more than ever with both local and high school matches and tournaments.
I have always had a deep love for the sport but since playing at a higher level, starting my freshman year, I have grown to be truly passionate. I have put in much hard work to be the golfer I am today, and I still plan to be better.
I am also part of a golf team that has been undefeated for three years, the first three undefeated years in our school history.
I am involved in several extracurriculars, specifically Honor Society, French Culture club and The Tacoma Mayor’s Youth Commission. I am the secretary of Art Society as well as the secretary of the junior class of 2021 in student council.
Additionally, I am a black belt in karate. The hard work I put into training for a decade has taught me how to build and achieve long term goals as well as how to work at the smaller steps along the way. So, on top of knowing how to defend myself, walking tall and knowing how to avoid a conflict when necessary, I also know how to ask for help, take criticism and how to help others reach their full potential.
My goal in golf, in school, in anything I do is to put in my all. I give everything that I as an individual can give to be my absolute best. I strive to be the best daughter, sister, friend and teammate I can be. I will continue to improve in my golf game as I continue to work my hardest to be my best as I learn and grow through the last year and a half of high school before college.
