Personal Statement

Although I have played several sports in the past, soccer and basketball predominately, the desire to pursue golf only grew when I faced failure. After doing well in my conference freshman year, I wanted to go to state, but ultimately scored just one stroke short of qualifying for sectionals. This experience empowered me to dedicate more time to golf and set the goal of playing in state the following year. As a sophomore and this past season, I was able to take the team to sectionals and gave my school the first chance of going to state since 2014. I was proud to represent my high school and accomplish my goal of going to state and placing within the top ten this year. I want to continue my success post-high school by being impactful on a college team. I am passionate about golf because competing encourages me to grow through goal setting and achievement, a connection I never had with any other sports.

After having success individually, I am excited to lead my high school again next season and achieve as a team for my senior year. Similarly, I also challenge myself off the course with my academics by pursuing my interest in math and science. I am looking for a school that shares my desire to grow and succeed in golf and also challenge me academically.

  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT Chicago Invitational
  • 10/21/23 to 10/22/23
  • Super windy the first day. I was tied for first the first day but struggled for some reason on the second. 80-87. It was disappointing to finish in 5th but it was a good experience. 36 holes, 5535 yards
  • Camp/Event
  • WIAA State Tournament

  • 9/05/23 to 9/05/23

  • Camp/Event
  • Varsity meet #3

  • I placed 1st in my conference. I shot a 38. I’m not happy with one hole, otherwise I did well.
  • Camp/Event
  • Varsity meet #2
  • 8/24/23 to 8/24/23
  • I took first place with a 41 and my team tied for first. The course is very challenging so shooting in the 40’s wasn’t too disappointing.
  • Camp/Event
  • Varsity meet #1
  • 8/21/23 to 8/21/23
  • From 5,300 yards I shot a 84 for T1/45. Our team finished 4th/7. As a team and individually it was a subpar performance, but I learned that even bad rounds can win when you don’t give up.
  • Camp/Event
  • Varsity invite
  • 8/17/23 to 8/17/23
  • I got 5th place with a 78. Not my best individual performance, but my team still finished in second. The course was 4,900 yards.
  • Camp/Event
  • Varsity scramble at Stoughton
  • 8/15/23 to 8/15/23
  • The event was a four person scramble. My team shot a 64 to get second place. It was played from 5,100 yards. Even though it wasn’t stroke play, I still enjoyed playing with my team.
  • Camp/Event
  • Washington County Invite
  • 8/10/23 to 8/10/23
  • The first high school event from the season. We played from 5,300 yards and I shot a +1 73 with and eagle on a par four. My personal best, I finished in T3rd/122. My team placed 10th/24
  • Camp/Event
  • Lake Arrowhead Invitational
  • 8/06/23 to 8/07/23
  • This invitation showcases the top golfers in the state. I played from over 5,600 yards and shot 84-79. I was struggling with my swing so I was very happy to break 80. I finished 20/30.
  • Camp/Event
  • Sherri Steinhauer
  • 7/31/23 to 8/02/23
  • 54 holes over three days played at 5,227 yrds. I didn’t make the cut after the second day due to a very poor performance. I was in a bit of a slump.
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Girls Championship
  • 7/24/23 to 7/26/23
  • My first match play event from 5,555 yrds. I shot 77 in the qualifier to make the first flight. I was up for most of the match play round but lost on the last hole.
  • Camp/Event
  • PGA Great Lakes Series
  • 7/16/23 to 7/17/23
  • A major event for the WPGA played from around 5,660 yards. I shot 80-84 for 16th place. The course was very windy both days.
  • Camp/Event
  • Women's Amateur Championship
  • 7/10/23 to 7/11/23
  • A Wisconsin amateur 54 hole event played from 6,000 yards. I shot 86 and 87 the first day and 90 the second day. I tied for 31st out of 53.
  • Camp/Event
  • PT Tour #1 American Family Insurance Championship
  • 7/05/23 to 7/06/23
  • 36 hole event from 5,818 yrds.
  • Camp/Event
  • Player's Tour #2 at the Wisconsin Dells
  • 6/26/23 to 6/27/23
  • I played from 5,770 and 5,570 yards and tied for 10th out of 29 girls. I shot 44-41 85 and 46-38 84. After having a rocky start the second day I was proud of being able to come back with a +2 38 on the back. The event was challenging for me because I didn't have much experience with the courses and they required strategic play.
  • Camp/Event
  • Jr. Championship
  • 6/21/23 to 6/22/23
  • The the courses played 5,632 and 5,541 yards long. I finished in 20th place (+17) out of 83 girls by shooting 36-44 80 and 41-39 80. I was disappointed with my finish the first day because of my slip ups on the back nine. I learned that even good rounds can turn bad and it's important to stay focused through out.
  • Camp/Event
  • WPGA Player's Tour #1 at Johnson Park and Meadowbrook
  • 6/18/23 to 6/19/23
  • I shot +21 over from around 5,700 yards two days for 42-41 83 the first day and 41-41 82 the second. My biggest challenge in this event was hitting the fairway, especially the first day, I was missing my line off the tee quite a bit. Overall, I finished in 11th place out of 23.
  • Camp/Event
  • Wisconsin Women's Open
  • 6/12/23 to 6/14/23
  • This was my first Wisconsin event of the summer, and my first WPGA event. The tee's were played from around 6,100 yards and I shot 45-45 90 and 45-43 88 but missed the cut to play the third day. Aside from the distance, my biggest struggle was off the tee because the fairways were very narrow and crowded by trees on most holes. This often stoped me from being able to get on the green in regulation. My experience helped me focus on working with my driver for future events.
  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT College Prep Series at Purdue
  • 5/27/23 to 5/29/23
  • This was my second 54 hole event and I shot 265 (+49): 91 (+19), 87 (+15), 87 (+15) to tie for 5th. The course was very challenging but I enjoyed to playing it and taking a day off from school. I played from 5,666 yards.
  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT Tampa Bay Junior Open presented by Perfect Hands Golf
  • 3/04/23 to 3/05/23
  • I tied for 17/33 and scored 172 (+28): 88 (+16), 84 (+12). Not being able to play much in the winter, I was excited to play in some nice weather. The course was 5,622 yards long.
  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT 54 Hole Texas Junior Open
  • 2/18/23 to 2/20/23
  • The course was 5,559 yards. I place in 10th with a 264 (+48): 89 (+17), 94 (+22), 81 (+9). Even with my rough first few days, I was proud that I improved on the last day.
  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT The Florida Club Junior Open
  • 1/21/23 to 1/22/23
  • I came in 8th and shot 189 (+45): 92 (+20), 97 (+25) from 5,674 yards. This was my first event that I missed school for in the off season and my first time in Florida. Even though I did not play well, I gained experience in traveling for events.
  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT Phoenix Winter Open
  • 12/31/22 to 1/01/23
  • My first Hurricane event, I tied for 6th and shot 168 (+26): 87 (+16), 81 (+10). I was proud of finishing better than the first day.
  • Camp/Event
  • WIAA sectionals
  • 18 holes. Second qualifying stage for state. I placed second overall with a 78. The course was very challenging. I qualified for state as an individual.
  • Camp/Event
