Personal Statement
My gymnastics career began when I was 2 years old, and every step of the way, I’ve enjoyed the challenge the sport has given me. Currently a 6th year level 10, I strive to be the best athlete I can by trying new skills and testing my limits.
Not only am I a gymnast, but I’ve put my talents into track and field, as well, breaking school records and placing 7th in the state in just my first year. Participating in multiple sports has allowed me to be a team player and ultimately a leader to fellow athletes. I enjoy stepping forward with a positive attitude and helping others reach their potential, and college gymnastics will provide me with the chance to encourage others and grow with them.
At a young age, my parents instilled in me the importance of a good education, and challenging myself academically has led to me currently being a top student at my school and maintaining a 4.0+ gpa. In 7th grade, I began my first year of level 10, qualified for regionals, competed elite compulsory, and practiced 35 hours a week, all while maintaining the highest gpa in my middle school. Because of the values and lessons taught to me by my parents, my education is just as important to me as my athletics. If I didn’t have their constant support, as well as my two other siblings to inspire me with their own athletic and academic achievements, I wouldn’t be the person I’m proud to be today. I look forward to meeting fellow student-athletes in college who hold themselves to the same standards infused in me by my family.
