My name is Sydney Mintz, I am a hockey player from Kelowna B.C Canada. I have been fortunate to play within the CSSHL and the OHA Penticton program for the past three years. This year, I am playing for the OHA U18 Female Prep team in the U18 Female Prep league.
On the ice, I play a 200 foot game. I thrive in battling both sides of the puck. I create puck pressure with my speed and generate turnovers. My coaches have described me as “the type of player you want on your team, and hate to play against”. I take great pride in being the hardest working player on and off the ice, pushing myself and my teammates to be better. I have a very good hockey IQ and am able to read and create plays all over the ice. I have been described by my coaches as having “ an unparalleled passion for the game, a drive for constant improvement and committed to excellence day in and day out”. I am not only coachable but willing to do whatever it takes to reach my goal of playing college hockey.
My goal is to attend a US college or U sports school with a strong academic program.
In my three years at OHA I have been named top junior academic, made Effort and Honour roll each semester consecutively, and maintained a top five scoring GPA on my team all season of 2019-2021. I strive to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout my time at Penticton Secondary Highschool.
