Personal Statement
My name is Brynja Burton and I have been playing ice hockey for 4 years, one with a rec bantam team, one on an A girls u15 team, and 2 years on an A u19 girls team all with Hyland Hills. One of my biggest goals is to play hockey in college because it gives me a nice break from school and I feel like a part of myself belongs to playing a sport, which is hockey. I love the sport because I get to meet so many new and talented people, keep up my endurance and routine of staying fit, the competitiveness and teamwork it has on and off the ice, and the ability to push myself to a limit. My favorite thing about the game is the creativity of it and how many things you can do on the ice to make a play. I am a strong leader and I ask lots of questions to make sure I am in the right place and doing things well repetitively. As in academics, I am in National Honor Society and strive for quality over quantity in anything I do.
