Personal Statement
Many of my teammates found their way onto the ice because of parents or siblings who played hockey. Not me. I found my way into the net all on my own. When I was 13 my mom took me to a "try hockey for free" event. I loved being on the ice and immediately registered for a season of "learn to play hockey". The next season, I was a forward. At the end of that season, I decided I wanted play goalie because I thought I might be good at it. It turns out I was a bit of a natural in the crease. In my first season as goalie, I faced over 600 shots on goal and stopped 92%. I spent two seasons with the Kimberley Academy Nitro Xpress in Kimberley, BC. I'm very proud to be a part of the Washington Pride U19 team for the 2019-2020 season. I am a very coachable and hardworking player on and off the ice.
Academically, I am an A student. I love math and science and want to pursue a degree in engineering or sports management. I love being part of a cohesive team and working together toward the team objective. When I'm not studying or playing hockey, I love hanging out with friends, reading, and playing with my dog, Loki.
