Hi my name is Evelyn Latka.
My current future long term plans include playing college hockey while earning a degree to prepare for medical school to become a brain surgeon. This off season has been strange with COVID-19. I have been back on the ice many times but miss the games. I am looking forward to opportunities to settle back into a team and play the game I love. I am always excited to skate for a great organization where I can showcase my skills and talents, contribute to a team, and grow as a player. Recently I have been recruited by a couple of prep schools. Culver and the Hill. I was noticed while I was playing in a U17 tournament in Detroit as a 13-year old. During the Detroit tournament I was one of three Team Colorado girls who scored in all the games played. Needless to say it wasn’t the tournament outcome we would have desired, but to score in a U17 tournament as a 13-year old was thrilling. With the fall season still tentative, I have chosen to stay home in Colorado and will play for Team Colorado U14 AAA Girls. I have just recently participated in the invite only CCM 68 Combine in Chicago this August and was selected to the Second All Combine Team based on my performance.
I am a great candidate for any college hockey team who is interested in a competitive athlete who loves to win! As one of the top 2006 female players in the state of Colorado, I attribute much of my success to playing on boys teams for my entire hockey career up until this 2020 season. I am a strong team player that can skate the puck, proven to lead a team, with great hockey IQ. I am a playmaker that sees opportunities and make smart decisions on the ice. I may be small, but I play with heart and tenacity. My coaches tell me that I have strong work ethics in games and practices. I learn new things and work on basics then apply these skills in game situations.
Additionally, I am a great student and enjoy being challenged in and out of the classrooms. My grades have been nothing less then above average as I have made honor role my entire middle school years. As I enter my freshmen year at Mountain Vista High School, I will only strive to do the best I can and aim to achieving my academic goals throughout high school. I look forward to speaking with any college or university that seeks an individual/student/hockey player that wants nothing more than a student like me to achieve my life long goals.
