Personal Statement
My dream has always been to play hockey at the college level. I started playing hockey when I was thirteen. While in the eyes of some this might be considered a late start, however I feel that all of the hard work spent the gym (cardio and weights) and getting up at 5:00 am during the summers to work with my skate coach has paid off. This could not have been achieved without the hard work and dedication from coaches and teammates
I feel that I can contribute and be successful with any team at the collegiate level. This was reaffirmed when I was elected the Most Valuable Player for my Tier 2 team and scored the most goals 26. My time spent on the ice is equal to my time spend on studies. I attend a private Catholic high school John Paul the Great where the number 1 priority is education and faith. I enjoy taken part and participating in school functions. I also played Junior Varsity Lacrosse as a freshman and sophomore.
I come from a military background and my parents have shown me the discipline and hard work that is needed to be successful in life. I understand sacrifice for something that you want, and sacrifice so that others can have. Since I can remember I have been surrounded by great people in all aspects of my life. I have been taught that leaders need to be able to listen and learn from others. I believe that these traits are the reason why I feel that I can impact on any program and school. I feel most at home in a team environment. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically.
