Personal Statement
I am currently a junior at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, IL. This past year I played Glenbrook Girls for high school and we won the state championship. I am now in my third year playing with Glenbrook. I was named onto the Illinois All-State team as a sophomore. For club this year, I will be playing for Chicago Young Americans at the U16 level. I previously played two years at Team Illinois. Before my AAA experience, I played for the Glenview Stars AA on a boys team and a girls team for 4 years. I won the State Championship twice with my girls team and NIHL twice as well. In 2013, I won MVP of the NIHL league for girls. I attended Central District Camp this past summer, and it was a great experience to be surrounded by such talented coaches and players.
I am a right-handed right wing. Two years ago, while getting used to the AAA speed, I was also learning defense for the first time. It was a great experience to learn about playing both sides of the ice. It has made me a more defensive winger. I am willing to go down into the corners and in front of the net for dirty goals. I would love to play Division 1 college hockey but I am very open minded to other options. I am not sure what I would like to study but as time goes on I will be able to figure what I would like to do. I have always been a great student-athlete, balancing school work and hockey. I perform better in school the busier I am with hockey. It keeps me structured and organized and I use my time much more wisely. Hockey has always kept me grounded and away from negative things. I am looking forward to the rest of my hockey career and excited to see where it takes me from here.
