Personal Statement

I've been a 3 sport varsity athlete for all 3 years of my high school career so far.  I have recently been named to the National Honor Society.  I am looking for a program that will fit me both academically and athletically.  I understand the amount of time and dedication needed to succeed both on and off the ice.  Since my freshman year, I've been on the power play,  both offensively and defensively, and when we were short-handed.  My freshman year, I was named Rookie of the Year by my high school coaches.  My sophomore and junior years, I was named MVP.  I am a leader both on and off the ice and try to lead by example.  One point that I feel sets me apart from others is that I am 6' tall and have a very long reach.  I play very aggressively, as I had been on the boys travel teams from second grade until my freshman year of high school.  Having that experience of playing with boys has trained me to keep my head up, make quick adjustments and enabled me to see the full ice has been an invaluable and impactful part of my hockey training.  I would like to see how far hockey can take me and love being on a team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
