Personal Statement
Hi my name is Erin Carter and I am a Junior at Brewster Academy. My love for hockey started when I was around 6 years old and I have been playing ever since. I have played club hockey the last several years for the Middlesex Islanders Hockey Club and played varsity high school hockey at Arlington Catholic High School for the last 3 seasons before transferring to Brewster Academy in the fall of 2019.
I had played forward all my life until my freshman year in high school when my coach moved me to defense to help our team. The past 2 years, I have played both forward and defense and I led our team in points. When I was in the 10th grade, I took on a leadership role for our young hockey team. I grew as both a player and a leader and was named a captain for my Junior year by our coaches at Arlington Catholic. I plan on taking on a leadership role as I continue my hockey career at Brewster Academy.
My personal goal is to play college hockey and get a degree in the Medical Field, Criminal Justice, or in Communications. I want to take my passion for hockey and bring it to the next level. My preference would be to play defense in college but I am always flexible if it helps our team. I am constantly working on and off the ice to improve as a player and I am very dedicated to the sport of hockey. I also understand that a good hockey player should also play other sports. I play both Lacrosse and Field hockey at the varsity level to maintain my athleticism.
Over the last few years my continuous improvement has given me the opportunities to play in several Tier1 tournaments including The Stoney Creek Showcase, Hockey Night In Boston Major Girls Showcase, and the Beantown Classic. The more I play at a higher level the more I feel that I can play in college and bring my hard work and leadership to a college program.
Thank You
Erin Carter
