I am a junior in high school at the age of 16 and I play for the Juniors full-season team Walpole Express, the Boston Brahmas, and the Boston Shamrocks. I played on the Dedham High Varsity team from 8th grade- 11th grade. I started playing hockey when I was 6 on the DYH program with boys up until eighth grade, and I loved every single second of being on the ice, unfortunately for my mom and dad who had to drive me to western Mass and Cape Cod for every tournament, buy me a brand-new stick and pair of the latest skates every year, wake up at 6:30 to drive me to early-morning hockey games, and pay for everything that came along with having a kid who's obsessed with hockey. Ever since then I knew I wanted to play for the rest of my life, especially in college as I was so excited to play in the most competitive (besides professional) level of the sport. Now that I'm here, I wish to play for a team that will challenge me, make me improve daily, and have the best time of my life. My goals and aspirations in college hockey include making it onto the perfect team for myself, using my skills to better the team and become an asset, make great connections with my teammates, win a championship game, score 100 goals in the four seasons I'd be there, and through collegiate training, become the kind of hockey player that would have inspired and wowed by younger self. I truly love this sport, and to get to play it in college would be an honor and a fulfillment of a decade-long dream. After college, I aspire to be a biologist or wildlife veterinarian, but also as a full-time hockey coach because hockey will remain in my life forever and teaching the next generation everything I know is something I’d love to do. I am a good candidate for a college hockey team because I put in the hard work every day, am definitely a team player, have always been known as a playmaker, am a dedicated and committed person and player, listen and ask questions to coaches knowing that they will make me a better player, I make friends and transition into a team easily, I have many years of experience, and I am very ready to go all in. What makes me different from other recruits is that you'll never find me slacking off or not working my hardest, I play all positions (I played defense for a while, then in high school I've predominantly been left wing and center), I like to build personal connections with my coaches, I am very dedicated and prioritize hockey over all else, I'm always positive, and I love every chance I get to skate. I am also a natural leader, as I always cheer and commend people, talk to my line about what we need to do (for example, "the defense are very lateral skaters, if we bank the puck off the boards we can easily get around them"), and I often talk in the locker room. Academically, I am a dedicated student and have maintained all As almost every term since 6th grade, have been in all honors or AP classes since middle school, am in many clubs, and have received many academic achievement awards. Teammates and coaches say that I have great "hockey sense," pass smart and often, am very vocal on the ice, have a strong and accurate shot, create lots of plays, work hard, have the team's best interest in mind, and am in general a big team-player. I believe I have lots to offer on any team, so I hope you consider me!
