Personal Statement
Ever since I was young, hockey has impacted me both on and off the ice. I have always been able to take my mind off of my busy schedule to focus on a sport I love, make new friends, and most of all have fun. Playing college hockey is important to me because I want to continue to compete and play at a high level. As a coachable player I know it is crucial to listen to drills and plays and also successfully carry them out on the ice. I believe that the way you practice directly affects your game, therefore I work hard every time I am on the ice. Listening to my teammates and coaches is fundamental to improve as a player. I strive to be a hardworking, friendly and inclusive teammate both on and off the ice. It is important for me to be a team leader so I can ensure everyone feels comfortable and close together. Team bonding can also have a big impact on a team's chemistry on the ice. I know that there is life beyond hockey, and balance is key. Academic success is just as important to me if not more so. I aim to be an ambitious, attentive and responsible student as well as athlete.
