Personal Statement
Since I was a child I have grown up playing all kinds of sports including gymnastics, swimming, and soccer. However, I never felt a love so strong for a sport until I began playing hockey. No matter how bad the week was, whenever I stepped foot on the ice all of my worries vanished. I knew instantly that this was the sport for me. While playing hockey I have often been told that I have good vision, I am an extremely hard worker, and that I'll never give up on a puck. Growing up the number one lesson my parents taught me was to give all of my effort into anything I do, because regardless of the outcome, if you did your best and gave it your all, there is nothing else you could have done. Whether that effort is put into school, sports, or other activities, I will always put 100% of my effort into it. My goal is to challenge myself academically and continue to play hockey in college at the highest level possible, and to keep practicing every day, even if it's only for a short amount of time. I hope to continue to grow as a person and as a hockey player as long as I can.
