Hello, my name is Rylee Bartizal, I'm currently a sophomore at Gentry Academy in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota. Around when I was in 5th grade my dad had decided to let me play hockey after I had begged him for years. At that time I was a multi-sport athlete playing softball and being a gymnast. I started as a goalie and never went back! In my 8th-grade year, at Farmington, I started playing high school. I started junior varsity and was backup for varsity. In my freshman year, I played junior varsity and played a few varsity games. Now, in my sophomore year, I switched schools and now attend Gentry Academy. I absolutely loved playing varsity any chance or ice time I got I took the opportunity. Most of the girls I have played with or now play with are so determined to get to play college. One day, I hope to be able to achieve that as well.
I believe I'm a very teachable player. I've had a variety of coaches teach me throughout the years. So far my favorite coach is Amanda Leveille. I get to train with her 3 days a week every other week. At Gentry Academy, I get the opportunity to practice in the morning before school! I have learned so much from Amanda in such a little amount of time, and I hope throughout my next 3 years with her I will be able to experience what she has. It's my dream to play D1 college hockey and has since I started playing. I'm a very competitive person and I think that reflects in my games. I believe I am a great teammate, I love playing with new girls and getting to know them.
In academics, I'm looking for a school that is going to push me in both academics and athletics. This year at Gentry Academy I'm taking 3 honors classes including honors chemistry, honors world history, and honors English. Last year at Farmington I got on the A honor roll and got a 4.0 in my 3rd trimester. I'm looking for a school that will provide me with a good education that will help me further in the future.
Thanks for taking the time to learn a little bit more about me!
Hope to talk to you soon!
