Personal Statement
My goal is to attend a college best suited for my degree, but where I can play hockey will also play a significant role in my enrollment. I enjoy being a three sport athlete; it has made me a well-rounded athlete helping to improve my hockey skills. I understand I have to take my hockey talent to the next level and I am up for the challenge. Our town's arena does not have ice year round, which has made it more of a challenge to compete against players who have the luxury of skating year round. I feel my opportunity to make improvements at the college level could be greater than others. With that said, our team made great strides this past year qualifying for the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. My coaches consider me a versatile player; they play me in the position they think will best benefit the team as a whole, which has been defense. My offensive stats may not seem overwhelming because my focus on my high school team has been on the defensive side of things.
