Personal Statement
Playing hockey at the collegiate level has been a long term goal of mine that I have been working very hard to reach. I have a very outgoing personality making it easy to fit into a new team as well as welcoming new players. I have a strong work ethic and I take direction well from coaches and teachers. During my sophomore and junior years at NAHA, I was named assistant captain and received the Players Award. This award is given to the ultimate teammate who represents the concept of 'no I in team' and always puts her teammates first. Receiving this award is something I am very proud of. On the ice, I am a very aggressive player where I am able to use my speed to my advantage. I am very gritty in the corners, always winning my 50/50 battles. Academically, I have always maintained an average in the nineties. Spending five months away at NAHA for the last three years has taught me to manage my time and advocate for myself. I am very excited to have the opportunity to attend Selects Academy at Bishop Kearny next year to further myself as a player and prepare me academically and athletically for college.
