I am from Vestal, NY and will be playing in my 1st season of hockey with Rome Girls Hockey in 2024-2025, after 4 seasons with the Syracuse Valley Eagles. My Eagles teams qualified for the NYS Girls Tier 1 tournament in all 4 seasons, including a Finalist showing in 2021-2022. I continued as one of the leading point scorers for the Eagles in 2023-2024, continuing the growth I experienced in previous years including being the 2nd highest point scorer in the National Girls Hockey League (NGHL) 16U Red Division for the 2022-2023 season (20 games, 14G, 10A, 24 pts). In 2023-2024 I also had the privilege to play with the Ithaca High School Girls Varsity team, and was honored to be named one of the co-Captains for the season. The Ithaca Varsity team came in 1st place in the regular season, and had a very successful return after a 1-year hiatus. In 2022-2023, I played with the Vestal High School Club hockey team as the only female on the team. I was honored to be a 2022 selection for USA Hockey Multi-District Development Camp, Bowling Green, OH.
I think the best way to describe my game is as follows: 200’ player who utilizes a relentless forecheck to create turnovers and gain possession in the offensive zone, and backchecks just as hard. I relish doing the hard work needed along the boards, in the corners, and in front of the net. I consider myself as an Intelligent, coachable, and unselfish player who is always working to improve, both on and off the ice. I have a “Team-first” mentality, and feel I am a positive presence on the bench and in the locker room.
I played Vestal High School Girls Varsity Flag Football again in Spring 2024, after a successful inaugural season in Spring 2023 in which we made the playoffs and won our first playoff game. I was also proud to score the first touchdown in program history in our first game in 2023 with a 72-yard catch and run, and catching the game-winning touchdown (with 30 seconds remaining) the following week to give our team it's first win in program history ! I also enjoyed playing modified, JV, and travel softball for many years before deciding to concentrate on hockey this past season.
I have volunteered as a junior mentor coach with our local special-needs youth hockey team, serve as a mentor to incoming freshman in my high school, and spent this summer working as a junior camp counselor.
I am very conscientious and methodical with my schoolwork, and approach learning at the rink in the same manner by paying attention to details, listening to my coaches, and asking questions to further my understanding of the concepts of the game that the coaches are teaching.
