Lyanne has been playing hockey since the age of 4, following in the footsteps of her older brother who played Midget AAA hockey. Lyanne stands out by her desire to compete, her speed, her decision making with the puck, her abilities in transitioning from defense to offense with a great first pass. She is difficult to beat one on one . Lyanne was chosen by Hockey Quebec and Caroline Ouellette to participate in an all girls all star team in the prestigious pee wee tournament in Quebec city. At the present time , she has been invited to try out to be part of the U18 Quebec Team and has been surclassed to Midget AAA at age 14. She is a very coachable, a team player and a natural leader.
She also has been awarded a financial contribution by Hockey Quebec confirming her “Releve” status. She is one of only 28 girls under 18 to have this status in Quebec . The selection committee responsable in identifying players “Relève” consists of Team Quebec coaches under the age of 18 provincial recruiters, the Hockey Canada Regional Recruiter and the Hockey Québec Women's Hockey Coordinator.
Lyanne is also an excellent student with an 90 % average in a private school at College Ste-Anne. Fully bilingual, Lyanne is part of a program called défi sport, where students get to participate in a wide variety of sports.
In 2018-2019, Lyanne was rewarded with the schools Female Athlete of the year , representing her school in rugby and flag football . During the past few summers, she represented Quebec winning the gold medal in the U16 category at the National Flag Football Championship in Vancouver in 2017 and won the MVP offense award at the National Championship in Halifax in 2018. In 2019, Lyanne is also part of the U18 Team Québec Flagfootball team and will once again represent her province at the National Championship.She also played intercity soccer for many years.
Lyanne is a balanced person, making sure she is able to succeed in her studies, her sports and her social life.
