Annaliese Mauel '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Annaliese Mauel and I am an ice hockey goalie that is graduating in 2020. My high school hockey team won the 2019 WIAA State Championship game.  I was the goalie in the net for the game, and it was a fantastic ending to what has been a great season. 

I first started hockey when I was 10 years old.   Ever since starting the sport, it has built up my character and shaped me into a better person overall.  Hockey was always something that I loved to do, the thought of being with my teammates, having fun on the ice, and of course, being shot at.  Ever since I joined the Varsity team my freshman year, it has been my dream to play college hockey. The prospect of playing the sport I love and enjoy into adulthood was an amazing thought to me.  But I knew along with that, my academics are also very important to me, and that academics need to be up there with my love for hockey.  The college that I would be most interested in is one that has a great atmosphere that I will enjoy to be at.  The major I would like to pursue is Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.  I am willing to travel farther to go to a school that has the sport I love and the major I am interested in.
