Personal Statement

Unlike my peers, I didn’t start out with the same drive that the other Mites seemed to have. While everyone else slapped at the puck in the corner, I sat idly by, waiting for it to fly out. I only played because my three older siblings did. I still tried my hardest, but I wasn’t always fully engaged. That was until the beginning of my Peewee years. I was tired of getting beaten, and something finally snapped, all of a sudden hockey was front and center. I joined every AAA team I could, got excited for practice at the rink and at home, and I watched hockey constantly. I didn’t inherit my everlasting desire to play hockey, it was something I earned.

I’m still in love with hockey and I will play for as long as I can. I push myself to be the best I possibly can be and I am going to play collegiate hockey. I strive to learn and grow every time I’m on the ice. I believe that mental preparation is as important as physical preparation, hockey requires quick wits and fast feet due to its spontaneous nature, and that is why I put my pursuit of education over my passion for the sport.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
