Personal Statement
On my way home from school everyday, I would always see the high school girls playing Lacrosse on the football field. I was in seventh grade when I told my parents that I wanted to join the middle school Lacrosse team. I had no clue how to play. After a couple of practices I finally got my first Lacrosse stick, my first pair of goggles, and my first ever mouth guard. I was so excited for my first Lacrosse game. I ended up scoring! I was so happy and loved the feeling after I scored. When the season ended, my coach told me that I was the top scorer in the district. I thought that was crazy because it was my first time playing. Every year I become more and more interested in the sport and I always love to learn new techniques and tricks to use in the games. I'm a sophomore right now and all I can say is that Lacrosse made me feel like I finally have something to do that makes me feel strong, healthy, and happy. I made so many great friends through the sport and it taught me how to become a leader.
I started playing softball when I was about three years old. When I came into high school, I had a decision to make. Since softball and Lacrosse are in the same season, I had to pick one to play. I chose Lacrosse and ever since then, my focus went straight to Lacrosse. During summer after my freshman year of playing, I joined a club team and i loved it, so I played again last winter. It was overall a great experience and I learned so much, not only about the sport, but to also be a good teammate. I know I have the attitude and determination to make an immediate impact on your program as a player and leader.
