Ivy Marshall '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ivy Marshall; I am 5'6 and 130 lbs and attend Summit High School. I am really excited about my 2011 summer, I am playing for the Rhode Island Metacomets. I look forward to the great coaching, high level of competition, opportunity to meet new friends and continue to improve my lacrosse skills. The Metacomets will be playing  in the Champions Cup, Northeast Challenge, Capital Cup and Northern Rise. I started playing club lacrosse for Cheyenne Mountain. My freshman year I attended Cheyenne Mountain High School. I played JV Lacrosse because I broke my arm and was unable to try out for varsity. I swung up and played in the majority of the Varsity games and was awarded the Most Valuable Attack Player. I was also the captain of the JV Field Hockey team. I  participated in National Charity League and logged a minimum of 20 volunteer hours per year. My Sophomore year I moved to Breckenridge Colorado. I was a starter for the Varsity Lacrosse team and was awarded 1st Team All Conference. Currently in my Junior year I am the Captain of the Lacrosse team. I was awarded League MVP and MVP for my high school, 1st team All Conference and Academic All State First Team. I continue to realize the importance of volunteer work and hold a part time job at Starbucks as a barista. I am also an ice hockey player and was  the captain of my club girls U19 Tier 2 ice hockey team for three years, which won the State and Regional Championships and this year the captain of the Boys Midget hockey team. I play on my high school boy's varsity hockey team and was awarded Rookie of the year.  I feel my experience playing on boy's teams with the physicality, training, speed and coaching styles has led me to be a better and more aggressive lacrosse player.  I understand the value of  back checking, am not afraid of getting in the mix of things and the importance of winning every individual battle.  There is nothing more satisfying than catching the opposing player and returning with the ball to help my team score. My goals are to play college lacrosse and get a great education.  With that said I would be very open to playing any where as I have traveled extensively and am looking forward  to new experiences.
