Personal Statement
As long as I can recall, I have loved the study of animals, and specifically the field of genetics. This true love of sciences led me to an easy decision when it comes to choosing the University of Vermont. I am looking forward to the further discovery of what I am passionate about while exploring the endless opportunities that college will provide me. I am declaring a double major in Animal Veterinary Sciences and Food Systems.
When asked why I find success in all that I attempt, I can attribute that directly to the work ethic my parents have instilled in me. I was always given the freedom to join as many activities as I was able to manage. I knew that balancing my extracurricular activities was second to my academics, but was taught the importance of being an integral part of a team as it teaches life lessons that simply cannot be achieved in a classroom. I work hard at every practice, never settling for being mediocre. I have been called an extremely coachable player by my coaches, and a helpful leader on the field by my teammates. I am a strategic player by nature and take pride in sharing that knowledge with my mates. I strive to learn and improve my game, in the classroom and on the field, as there is always room for growth. My intrinsic motivation to succeed is a driving force in all that I do. I am kind, honest, compassionate, determined, and will continue to work hard for my goals and aspirations.
