Personal Statement
I began playing lacrosse at a late age of 9 years old. Growing up, many of the girls on my team started around 5 or 6 years old. It made me feel like I was behind in skills and experiences, determined to catch up. I trained with my dad outside in our backyard, begged him to buy me a bounce-back and a goal to practice catching and shooting. In less than a year, I began to play on the same caliber as the girls on my team. I trained to become the top shooter on my team, joined my first club team at the age of 11 and quickly adapted to the higher level of intensity the girls played on. I was chosen to compete at the All-American Lacrosse National Classic Tournament, representing Chesapeake in 2019. I make sure to apply this same determination with anything I do, involving academics and goals.
